As Salicylic Acid accelerates pore clearance, deep-seated congestion may surface temporarily. This purge is normal and indicates the BHA is penetrating the follicular lining and working correctly.
Purging subsides as pores are fully decongested. Texture becomes noticeably smoother and Camellia Sinensis extract from MatchaMelt calms residual redness and oxidative stress.
Cellular turnover is complete. The acid mantle is balanced and reinforced, leaving the skin primed for corrective actives and ready to absorb subsequent treatments at full efficacy.
The Philosophy
MatchaMelt is a professional-grade double-cleansing balm engineered to emulsify stubborn SPF, environmental pollutants, and waterproof makeup while protecting the skin's acid mantle. It transforms from a nutrient-dense buttery balm into a silky milk on contact with water, ensuring a complete rinse without the heavy residue or film common in traditional oil cleansers:
Caprylic Capric Triglycerides (45%) and Grapeseed Oil (10%) form a non-comedogenic lipid base that dissolves lipid-based impurities through the like-dissolves-like principle. SPF filters, waterproof makeup, and sebum are all hydrophobic — they bind to and emulsify into the oil base, lifting cleanly away without water being required to break them down first.
Green Tea Extract (oil-soluble, 0.5%) and Tocopherol (Vitamin E, 0.5%) deliver antioxidant activity during the cleanse itself. Environmental pollutants generate free radicals that oxidise the skin's lipid barrier throughout the day — MatchaMelt begins neutralising this oxidative stress at the first cleansing step rather than leaving it to corrective serums applied later.
PEG-20 Glyceryl Triisostearate, PEG-10 Isostearate, and PEG-7 Glyceryl Cocoate form the emulsification system that converts the balm into a milky texture on contact with water. This ensures complete rinsing without leaving a greasy film or occlusive residue on the skin surface that would block the BHA Gel Cleanser from penetrating the pore lining in the second cleanse.
Layering Guide
MatchaMelt is always your first step, applied to completely dry skin before any water contact. On GlycoGommage days it is replaced by GlycoGommage as the first step. It is never used alone — always followed by the BHA Gel Cleanser as the second cleanse.
Used once a week as your first step on that day only. Apply to dry skin, massage to exfoliate, then rinse before moving to the BHA Gel Cleanser. Skip MatchaMelt on this day.
Apply to completely dry skin. Massage in circular motions until SPF and makeup emulsify into a milky texture, then rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water. Always used on dry skin before any water contact.
Second cleanse daily. Salicylic Acid decongests the pore lining while Panthenol maintains barrier integrity. Never skip this step — MatchaMelt alone does not decongest the pore lining.
First active step after cleansing. Blocks the melanin signalling pathway before pigment production begins. Allow 60 seconds to absorb.
Triple-pathway brightening serum applied after TraneXaMilk. Targets tyrosinase inhibition, melanin transfer blockade, and antioxidant protection simultaneously.
Multi-weight Hyaluronic Acid and Matrixyl 3000 plump the barrier and lock all actives in place before the emulsion layer is applied.
Applied after serums as an emulsion. Micronized Azelaic Acid penetrates the follicular lining to correct PIH and PIE while its lipid base seals the serums underneath.
Final step. Ceramide NP and Squalane create an occlusive seal that locks in all actives and prevents transepidermal water loss overnight.
Always apply MatchaMelt to completely dry skin. Water deactivates the emulsifiers before they can bind to lipid-based impurities.

How to Use
- Start with completely dry hands and a completely dry face. Water prevents the balm from binding to lipid-based impurities.
- Scoop a small amount and warm between fingers until it melts into an oil texture.
- Massage over the face in circular motions for 30 to 60 seconds, focusing on areas with SPF and makeup. You will feel it binding to and lifting the surface layer.
- Add a small amount of water to emulsify — the texture will turn milky white. Continue massaging for 10 seconds.
- Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water and pat dry.
- Follow immediately with the BHA Gel Cleanser as your second cleanse. MatchaMelt alone does not decongest the pore lining.
